Pausing and Resuming a Premium Certification Exam
Pausing means leaving a Premium sitting and returning to it in a later session, where it resumes at your first unanswered question. The clock, though, does not come back with it: on return the timer is set to the full duration afresh, so pausing buys you a break, not a stockpile of saved minutes. Say you are midway through a long F5 BIG-IP paper — a stretch of questions on client and server SSL profiles and SNAT pools — and something pulls you away; you can leave, return, and carry on from the next unanswered item, though the timer will be full again when you do. How Pausing Differs from Stepping Back in a Certification Exam
Stepping back through questions is a different thing from pausing. During any live attempt, on either tier, the Back control lets you return to an earlier question and revise what you put — all with the clock still running — which is ordinary movement inside one unbroken sitting, not a pause. Pausing is another matter: it means leaving the sitting outright and resuming another time, which only Premium allows and which sends the timer back to full. When the goal is simply to rethink an answer you already gave, reach for that back-step, not the pause.
Pause is a Premium convenience with one honest catch: you can leave a certification exam sitting and come back to where you stopped, but the clock returns to full rather than to the time you had left.
